I really like these facon ones for cheap, much better than the ones that come apart with the latch. Feather Artist Clubs are the absolute best and a joy to use, basically a straight razor disposable but they are expensive, and addictive. Can’t really get a better shave and the sharpest lines you will ever find.

Artist Club looks similar but in it own league.

In short, yes.

Long answer, shavettes can be fine but the blades they use are meant for a DE and when used in a shavette produce less-than-comfy results. My recommendation is to either tough it out and figure out your technique for a subpar experience(compared to straight razor), go back to DE's, or go all-in with straight razors. Note, straights require their own technique to get down as well but it isn't terrible. Good luck man, you'll notice most folks opt out of shavettes rather quickly. They're fine for your barber that has to maintain a sanitation standard and they mostly clean up your edges with em anyhow.

Oh right, these bad boys are actually quick decent too. https://www.amazon.com/Feather-Folding-Handle-Razor-Black/dp/B008CF6KMC?th=1 which use a different blade for a MUCH nicer experience. It is still not quite a straight razor but it is more than adequate for a smooth shave, unlike shavettes.
