Thanks very much for your thoughtful reply. I've been able to locate three USB-C male to USB-C female adapters from Apple, Amazon Basics, and Belkin; all of which I trust. I haven't been able to find a well known source for a USB-C male to USB-A female. I've found a seemingly very well constructed on at https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Extender-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B08DY3YVLQ?th=1, but it only has 78 ratings, another with 97 ratings at https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Extender-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B08DY3YVLQ?th=1, and a third made by UGREEN at https://www.amazon.com/Extension-Extender-Thunderbolt-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B08DY3YVLQ?th=1 with lots of ratings, but doesn't have the 90 degree connector on the USB-C end, which is desirable.
