The Ready America was rated pretty badly. I'm just opting to build my own, based on the risk factors for my area (Earthquake, Wildfire, Flood, Pandemic).
Here's the list I worked up, based on what is in the other kits. It's important not to skimp on quality if you're really thinking about survival, and on the upside, some of it can be useful for camping.
