Muchas gracias.
He's telling you you might wait forever. If Nintendo hasn't provided any to that store in the last few weeks, they might have stopped sending them altogether. It was meant as a movie tie-in, so unlike the Mario Kart 8 bundle that's happened every Black Friday this one has no reason to recur annually. I do see some retailers still have it in stock.
My thoughts would go as follows:
- The main differences between the original and OLED are two things: Display and storage. It's good to note that the original switch will stay in line with the OLED in terms of support and updates.
- The OLED has a superior screen and double the storage (for a total of 64gb, the original switch has 32gb).
- If the switch is mainly going to be docked and used on a TV, a regular switch is okay.
- It's good to note that the OLED has a glass screen, while the original has a plastic one. If your daughter is prone to dropping things, I would recommend the original to prevent unexpected shattered glass. If you go with the original switch, I would highly reccomend some sort of screen protector, as the plastic screen can and will easily scratch, even just taking it in and out of the dock.
- Ignore the switch lite if you value plugging it into your TV, as it lacks this functionality entirely.
- If your daughter is prone to losing things, I would highly reccomend going with digital versions of titles. For this, you will need a good sized MicroSD card, but you will never have to worry about your daughter losing games, I know I did with my DS when I was younger. Physical switch games are incredibly small, roughly the size of a SD card.
- If you go with digital games, you'll find that Nintendo titles do not go on sale. For this, if you subscribe to Nintendo's Online Service, there is a option available called a Game Voucher. Game Vouchers costs $99, and you can use them to get any two Nintendo games at a time, allowing you to get a discount on titles. Great for expanding a collection!
Overall, I think I would reccomend the original Nintendo switch. More specifically, the Nintendo Switch "Choose One" bundle. This is an original switch, at $299, but it comes with the option of three games: Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Bros U Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey. This way, you get a Nintendo switch that best meets the needs of your daughter and husband in addition to kicking off your library with the game he wanted to play with your daughter for free, Mario Kart! Here is the link to that Nintendo Switch bundle.
For accessories, the Switch has it all. I will link a few that might be good:
Here is a MicroSD card if you want to buy games digitally.
Official Switch controllers are expensive, but third party officially licensed controllers can be cheap and accessible.
If you are not concerned about cracked glass, here is a glass screen protector for your Switch.
If you are concerned about cracked glass, here is a film screen protector.
I hope that this helps!

If anyone has questions about the mario bundle warranty there is a warranty related question on the amazon site - I marked it as 'helpful' so it would be easier to see. There are some warranty related reviews too.
