Man am I glad you commented on this post. I'd just like to take a minute and thank you because without you I would've been fucked over and either have to drive 25 miles to my "local" music shop or wait another week for those cables to come in.

I bought one of those sound shields, actually I'll link you to these couple of things I bought. I'm wondering if you've got any clue if these will fit together? I feel like if I put the sound shield and the mic on the stand it might be a little wobbly. Just speculating tho.

Also, I bought this headphone adapter. It was the only one I saw when I searched it on Amazon... this is what you're talking about right?

Whatever you buy, don't purchase anything that has external tension springs. I do recommend either a scissor arm boom (with internal tension springs) that clamps to your desktop or a tripod stage boom like this.

I don't recommend getting a desktop boom that sits on your table, especially one with. heavy base. The reason why is, any time you bump your table even the slightest bit, that sound carries up through your boom and into the mic. Even you have a shock mount, the heavy base amplifies the noise from bumping your table.

Which brings me to my final point, which is if you don't already have one, get a shock mount for your microphone. Shock mounts suspend your mic, greatly reducing unwanted noise from your boom and table top.

Best of luck in your podcasting endeavors!
