I bought a cheap, but decent quality projector, a tripod, a boom arm, and a converter. I already had some weights to balance it out, so I didn't have to purchase that. I put the projector on the long arm of the boom and put it high above my table and aim it down onto a grid. The whole setup cost me $140.
This SLIK tripod is the exact same OEM as the Shadowtech pig (source: I have the Shadowtech and compared it at a match a few months ago) and is cheaper by about $30. I put this ball head on mine for my 15x binoculars, and it's solid. I used to use an amazon basics tripod, but it was too light and blew around like crazy in the wind. The Slik/Shadowtech is SO much better. I freaking love spotting with it. I can use it sitting, I can use it standing (I'm 5'11") without bending over, the list goes on. I highly recommend it.
