I germinate directly in the pot I plan to grow in, to decrease plant stress.

Get some disposable 20oz plastic bottles and cut them in half, creating sorta' mini greenhouses out of the base and top of the bottle.

Plant, water, cover with the greenhouse.

Works for all kinds of seeds: I grow peppers that take weeks to germinate and they work great.

Sort of like this or like this but you get the idea.

Once you see green leaves inside the dome, you remove the dome: just be sure to leave it in indirect/lower light for a few days, so you don't fry the sprout from intense light/heat (I get very upset when that happens).

In terms of pots: buy these.

Cloth is better for root aeration.

They dry out faster but it's very worth the trade-off.
