If it doesn't do you think the Samsung 980 with Heatsink may fit?

This appears to be a problem from past units, at least in my case. Reposting my reply to another further up in the thread.
Update: I decided to pull the drive and put in my PC to check / update. It was indeed already updated to the latest firmware (5B2QGXA7).
A word of warning: After doing this I did need to re-format the drive on the PS5 so all the games were wiped. Not a big deal for me since I have 1GB internet, but other should be aware.
I purchased the drive off of Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JHKSNNG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) on February 11th, 2023.
Final note: I had seen on other posts that it Samsung Magician would not work on AMD based PC's if it is not the primary drive. In my instance that was not the case, it was instantly recognized by the software. Currently running a 5600X.
Oh, awesome!! So the SN850 (one of the links I posted above) is one of the two best for the PS5? And when you say "Samsung 980 Pro", are you referring to this listing..
Are there any real differences between that and the SN850? I am in the market, with my PS5 I am downloading digital games, its getting a bit crowded on my hard drive.

I get what you're saying, but isn't this essentially Retail 101? The entire MSRP/"current price" system is just a bunch of arbitrary numbers based on what retailers think consumers will spend vs. what they paid for it and what the manufacturer recommends—supply/demand economics aside. Consumers look at their needs and budgets and, if they line up in a way that looks acceptable to them, they buy it.
Example: This 2TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 SSD with heatsink is currently $209.99 with the Amazon Prime Early Access price; looks like NewEgg just matched Amazon's price saying it's their lowest price in 30 days. It was $248.85 a few days ago on Amazon; around this time last year, it was $449.99. The chart (in the previous link) shows that the price has steadily fallen every few months with a few blips in price increases. Is this not a sale? Have I spent enough time (10 minutes) trying to figure it out?
Short of producing my own storage, I (and most other consumers) neither have the time or interest trying to parse out if the price I'm looking at for a particular item is an actual sale or if it's a previously-inflated number that was just marked down for a day or two before they jack it back up... and to do that with every product I'm considering/comparing. I don't know about you, but I have more important and/or fun things to do with my time than to figure out if the price I'm looking at is a real discount or a fake sale.
I suppose the only real way to knock this behavior off is to either stop purchasing from that retailer until they change their ways (which is a laughable thought) or to lobby politicians to do something about it (they won't and the retail lobby is stronger than we are).
I just picked up this Samsung SSD to add 2TB of storage to my PS5.
$50 cheaper than on sale at Best Buy.

This does appear to be true, reposting my reply to a post further up on the thread.
