He should start with a gentle moisterizer (I recommend CeraVe foaming cleansers but it depends on his skin type) and then finish it off with a moisterizer (gentle one if he has oily skin - I love the Hada Labo Super Hydrator or something stronger if he has dry skin - CeraVe moisterizers should be fine.)
