Been down that road after trying to smoothie a steel spoon. Broke my container. There was a ~$50 replacement on Amazon that fit and worked, and was obviously of lighter construction. It didn't puree the raw baby carrots I put in my smoothies, but left them in peanut sized chunks. Not ideal... So, there are these Vitamix containers with many configuration options. More expensive, yes, but work the way they ought to. Only other downside is these don't have the big rubber handle on them - but they are cheaper than the full-on Vitamix carafe replacement.
