I own 2 of these and they have never failed me using them on my minis

anyone know if this would work: https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adapter-Compact-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00OCBXIY8/ref=pd_sim_107_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00OCBXIY8&pd_rd_r=RD9N0FYKBDWYT0ANX8NW&pd_rd_w=kmANp&pd_rd_wg=3Elfm&psc=1&refRID=RD9N0FYKBDWYT0ANX8NW
I saw this recommended in another thread but it doesn't ship to the USA and thought the above looked like it may be the same: https://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-External-Adapter-Smartphones-compatible-Black/dp/B00Y1092WM/ref=redir_mobile_desktop/262-3026900-9592345?_encoding=UTF8&%2AVersion%2A=1&%2Aentries%2A=0
Quality control on those octopus ones seems to be lacking and too much guesswork about ones that work and ones that don't. I even supposedly had a "good one" that I only used for a couple weeks that failed. I just got this one and will have to try out soon: https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adapter-Compact-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00OCBXIY8/ref=pd_sim_107_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00OCBXIY8&pd_rd_r=RD9N0FYKBDWYT0ANX8NW&pd_rd_w=kmANp&pd_rd_wg=3Elfm&psc=1&refRID=RD9N0FYKBDWYT0ANX8NW
I'm hoping it will prove to be a reliable option for folks who want multiple inputs.
I haven't seen complaining on the right angled one so that likely is a good option for those not needing additional inputs.
Is this the INATECK OTG adapter that is highly recommended?
If so I'll buy one just to test it out too.
I highly recommend this one, I own 2 of these for my minis

I guess it all comes down to preference on the HDMI or cable extension thing. For me it wouldn't work well because I don't have a power outlet near where I'm sitting, plus when there are other people playing in a group setting, it's nice to be able to hand them a controller without worrying if it'll reach them. But that's just my personal concern.
And yeah, that's pretty much what USB-HOST does. Here's a guide about setting it up. I don't use either of the OTG adapters listed there anymore, though; I use an Inateck adapter now because it fits snugly in the SNES Classic's power port. The angled adapter had a tendency to lose connection when nudged ever so slightly. The only downside to the Inateck adapter is that its power cord is only 1 foot long. There's probably some sort of extension cable I could get for it, but..eh.
Oh no! Stop using that POS immediately. This one is the one you want. I swear by it.

Back when I used an angled adapter, this is exactly the Amazon entry that I ordered from. It even says "You purchased this item on April 20, 2018." at the top, but I digress. Definitely sounds like they sent you the wrong adapter! I'd contact them for a return/replacement.
And personally, I'd recommend the Inateck OTG over the angled adapter, but its shortcoming is that you have to use its included power cable instead. And the power cable is just over 1 foot long. I was using a USB extension cable for awhile, but I found that I'd get random power downs and black screens, so now I just deal with having the Classic right next to the power bar.
But with the angled adapter, which I gave up on after a month and a half, had a tendency to get nudged just the slightest bit and then lose the data connection. It was an annoyance. Other people I know don't have that issue, but I wasn't alone.
There’s also the inateck one a lot of people like Inateck Micro USB Card Reader Hub, USB OTG Adapter with SD/TF/MS/M2 Card Slot and 3 USB 2.0 Ports, HB3001G https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OCBXIY8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_7xUaDbB3JVNPQ
I am trying to find a decent adapter for my android.
(Sorry for the long link)
If your gonna spend $9USD on an OTG please consider this one instead, it's fantastic:

Just ordered this one:

Do you have to have to use the power adapter, or can I just one of the usb 2.0 ports to connect to my nintendo power brick?
Inateck or the octopus one, they are adding network support in future so want more then one USB port

I linked it in my other post, but I'll link it here for you too: Inateck's hub is great. The only issue with it is you have to use its power cord instead of the NES/SNES Classic's cord. The Inateck power cord is significantly shorter at roughly a foot.
You can install Bleemsync 1.1 using the single working port. If you can also do the kernel update then you can buy that Inateck OTG hub and you're golden even for multiplayer!

Who knows, maybe the process will fix the usb ports, too. Slim hope.
This seems to be the recommended OTG adapter, at least that's what came up on a Google search.
I've also seen the spider type recommended too.
If you're going to be using the PSClassic a lot I would go for the cables over an angled OTG as they are not the best fit, pretty sure they are mass laser printed cheaply as they do wiggle and are not a secure fit.
I use an angle adapter as my PSClassic is pretty much a holiday travel console, PC fills all my emulation needs, and that was the recommendation at the time with the SNES Classic so I had spares.
Also with a spider or Inateck adapter you can put the Wi-Fi adapter and USB drive in the rear and free up the front port for a 2nd controller.
As for the Wi-Fi adapter, I guess it depends on where you live? They sell them everywhere here in Aus, electrical stores, PC stores, Officeworks, etc or even ebay.
Going off your initial link I found several available, and in stock. Hope this helps?
First off the controller you linked is a third party controller, not official nintendo. From what i've heard and read here is that 3rd party knockoffs don't work on the snes mini.
For the USB hub, i only use the angled otg adapter so I don't know about the hubs from experience. But the one always mentioned here as the best by others is from Inateck: https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Adapter-Compact-Compatible-Smartphones/dp/B00OCBXIY8
That OTG adapter can be pretty flaky in the Classics. Bump it just a little to the left or right and it won't supply the data. After a few weeks of me trying to get it in there perfectly straight, I gave up and bought the Inateck adapter instead. It has worked well for me since I got it in June!
I very highly recommend this one

I just ordered one I was very nervous because their really isn't a lot of information about these things online. But Im happy to say the inateck 10 dollar adapter works fantastic and is the best otg I have found. Only problem is that it comes with a very small power cable. But defiantly don't waste your time on other otgs like the octopus or the right angle this is the only way to go for a reliable otg that will hold up. Hope this helps guys!!
