I've been sleeping in a hammock full time for the last several years and love it. I screwed a 2 foot section of l-track vertically into a stud on my wall in two places. My attachment points are on adjacent walls (they share a corner), about 12 feet apart.
Then I have a ring on each track that I can raise and lower so I can adjust my hang height depending on what hammock I'm using.
I bought some 3/8" polyester strap, cut it into two pieces (melting the ends) and then sewed a loop into one end of each. I larkshead each loop through one of the rings, and then use a becket hitch through the continuous loops of my hammock (ignoring the carabiners that came with it).
My hammock is the biggest hammock I could find cheap on Amazon.
I'm using my backpacking underquilt right now -- an Incubator Econ from HammockGear that is snuggly and fabulous. I just got their tiny Hammock Pillow yesterday and so far I'm loving it.
On top I use a Costco down quilt whose bottom I sewed into a footbox (imitating my HG quilt I use for backpacking) -- having a footbox helps me keep my feet covered 😀
I also just bought the ridge line organizer from Hammock Gear to replace my old one -- this one has a water bottle pocket down the middle, which I really like! It basically serves as my bedside table and holds my water, glasses, phone etc while I'm sleeping 😀
I know this sounds like a lot of gear, but this is kind of the premium version of indoor hammocking, and it still costs less than a good bed + mattress 😛 You can take bits and pieces from it and upgrade gradually 😀
I would highly recommend checking out Derek Hansen's site The Ultimate Hang -- when I was just getting into hammocks I found his site tremendously informative 😀
