I too was thinking of using a tactical bag, loads of room, lots of pockets and I love the look. But I decided to go another way and use a leather briefcase that will be a hand me down to my kids.
With the lack of pockets, but so much room, I picked up Amazon basic hard case zipper containers to go inside. Plus some zipper bags for usb drives and cables. for usb drives and cables.
The Behringer CT100 tester and that Sound Tools XLR Sniffer are essential gig bag tools for me, and both inexpensive enough to qualify as top tier gift ideas.
A small carrying case for the Sniffer/Sender and all your other lil bits and bobs is a great gift idea as well. I used this one for a while as a tiny troubleshooting case, and when I outgrew it I moved to this one which now holds the sniffer/sender, all those dongles and adapters, an external hard drive, buncha short USB/Ethernet cables and hubs, and a few other small things that come and go depending on the gig.
