Thank you for sharing. Just a few more things to add. These are a few things that I purchased... and yes, I've linked everything in case someone wants to check them out.
- Battery backup for all our small electronics. Yes, this IS a high $$ item - but there are smaller/cheaper units.
- Water storage containers - both small and large. Cuz boiling water really sucks!
- Rechargeable emergency lightbulbs. I can't even tell you how handy these are. So, much so that I bought another 4 pack.
- Propane heater. NOTE OF CAUTION: I haven't personally tested this indoors, but from everything I've read and watched - it's safe to use inside. We tried the candle/clay pot thing - but that didn't work for us. It doesn't generate any heat, it just distributes the heat in a different way.
- I also purchased two 20lb tanks of propane and a CO2 meter.
- Candles.
- Camping stove. I didn't buy this exact model, but it's a Coleman and it's close enough.
Ummm... I think that's it.
Edit: Even if you don't use these this winter, there's ALWAYS the storm season and hurricane season. Most of the items above can be used for ANY emergency.
