All that open wall feels like such a waste. Command hooks can't support appliances, but you can do more with them than you think (particularly if you use multiple hooks to support a basket or rod that will distribute weight).

I would get a bunch of command hooks and some wire baskets or rods that can be hung off them, and just get a nice line across the whole blank wall. Then you can put small items in there such as:

  • All condiments and spices currently in that rack
  • Small amounts of fruit or fresh produce ( so like... a bunch of bananas or several potatoes, but maybe not a full size pumpkin, y'know? you'd be surprised at how much weight the command hooks can take up)
  • Lightweight food items, particularly things you want easily accessible like: tea bags or coffee + small sugar canister, instant oatmeal packets, bread, cookies / chips / granola bars / snacks
  • Lightweight kitchen items like large cooking cutlery (spoons, spatulas, ladle, tongs, etc), sieves, measuring cups, hot dish gloves, etc
  • Can maybe find or macguyver a wall-mounted paper towel dispenser

Getting all of those items on the wall would help free up both counter space and storage space.

These are my favorite combo of hooks + baskets, although your needs may vary:
