The listing may say unlocked but it may still be locked or it could have another problem.

The phone itself should be compatible but the fact you cannot edit or add APN tells me there is a problem.

Try this...

Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Network Operators and tap Search Now to see if the names of other carriers come up. If multiple carrier names show up, your phone might be unlocked. This method works a lot of the time but is not always 100% accurate.
