I bought an expensive Motorola monitor for my first. It was crap. The range wasn’t great, and it played hell on my WiFi. My wife uploads a lot of her business, and when she would upload over WiFi the camera would go out. The sound had tons of white noise at all times and the picture was grainy. It died about the time we were done needing it.
This time around I have twins so we wanted two cameras. I wasn’t about to add another $100 to the already hefty price tag just to have twice as much crap. So I bought a Foscam IP camera from Amazon. I love this camera. Picture and sound is great. Setup is really simple. Night vision is great. It can upload to cloud or record to an SD card. WiFi access is great. And with a little extra tech know-how it can be configured to view locally or remotely seamlessly. I open the app on my phone and the cameras come up regardless if I’m home or on WiFi. Ultimately I got way more for half the price.
Foscam also makes baby cameras which look about the same except they are cheaper, lower picture quality, significantly cuter, and have temp monitor.
