check this bad boy out

I have an older model of the swift 3 with an Intel cpu and an Nvidia mx150 gpu and I love it. I have no real complaints. It has good horsepower and it's small and looks great.

This laptop is only $700 and the CPU has literally ~4x the power. Looking at passmark the intel 7500u has a score of 3,700 while the ryzen 4700u has a score of 14,000. This model also has a much nicer screen than the one I have, IPS is very nice to have.

Downside is no Ethernet port so you will need a USB adapter. They're like $10. It also only has 8 gb ram, but I haven't run into issues with memory using mine.

  1. Any good laptop recommendations for the above specs?

Yup, there are lots of great choices with these specs. However, I'm gonna point out that recently AMD chips have been killing it lately and they have been offering better performance than Intel at a cheaper price. I'm gonna link a video about a great laptop that fits your budget and your desired specs and it's amazon link(although there are MANY alternatives, but I'm not gonna bore you, that's the best I found)

  1. Where are the best places to buy a laptop here?
  2. Is it worth buying the laptop here or would it be better to ship it from abroad?

I don't like buying electronics in Mauritius because of the high prices they charge (prolly because of import duties and stuffs). However, if you have to have the peace of mind of having a warranty then you can check out courts, galaxy and cash n carry.
