I stumbled across this discussion while googling the types and benefits of probiotics used in some herbal teas. For people interested in trying bacillus in something other than pill form, you may consider giving these a try:

While I don't consider myself a long-hauler, I have had test-confirmed Covid twice (the first time, brutally) and suspected infections of Omicron twice (OG and BA.5). Sequelae aside, I feel my body is constantly being tested against endemic exposure. My most recent confirmed Covid infection was November 24th; I recovered for a couple weeks, then was hit with a suspected case of Flu A on December 16th.
FWIW, Since I've been drinking the Bigelow tea (started 1/8), I feel generally better than I have in weeks. Not that I was feeling particularly bad, but I now I'm feeling a more general sense of wellness. I also feel better than when I was taking probiotics in pill form, which were mostly Lactobacillus strains. I'm careful not to assume causation over correlation, and I realize this just could be a coincidence in timing.
Regardless, the perceived change in wellness compels me to consider the Republic of Tea offerings, as well... in addition into further research about gut health and Covid.
