Pure wattage factor is a made up term. All I meant by it is a 1000w Gavita is cheaper than 1000w QB96 V2 setup in terms of wattage. I understand that’s a terrible measure of a light, I was literally just saying based “purely on the wattage of each light”
You’re right I shouldn’t be throwing around a μmol/j claim on any manufacturer, but the viparspectra 700w dimmable led does have ppfd map of 18” height with 600 at the center and the tests I’ve seen done on this light are comparable.
You’re right ppfd is more about getting the right variables in your setup (reflectors, angle and canopy area) not purely how well your light and how strong your light is.
Is it not normal for these boards to require a heatsink? Every cob has a heatsink, and wouldn’t be able to produce much with out it. It’s a relatively small heatsink for a 170 watt light. I guess i was saying the board isn’t enough material itself like some of the smaller HLG setups.
What are your thoughts on the QB96 Elite v2?
