First thing I would do is since the US Stations are weaker than the Canadian stations I would point the antenna at the US Stations... just go do that now and see how you fair.

That 1by1 antenna you are looking at is not as good as the one you have right now

In the near future there will be a movement of tv stations across north america I can't tell you how soon but those stations above 36 Real on your tv fool will move lower... right now you only have a couple VHF under 13 stations but that could change. you have about 24 months or less for this to happen so investing tons of money right now is not the best idea.

Since your TV has a better tuner its getting the stations better so you can tell the difference between good and bad results is not that much.. maybe 10db or less

while the wineguard is a good amp its expensive

this amp is pretty basic.. i think the specs on it are not correct

says 50db of noise .. thats just impossible but anyway its $18

if repointing your antenna directly at 170° magnetic with your cellphone with a compass app does not give you the improvement you need then try that cheap amp and it should do ok for you

Any Yagi Style antenna is very directional .. Yagi is where the antenna lays horizontal and there are smaller elements in the front and larger ones in the back.. you can normally get about 30 compass degrees max of reception .... you are at 170 to 216 so you are outside that boundary .. your flat antenna has a wider area of reception but its only good for stations over Real 13 .. it might pick up stations below that but no guaranty.

So ... if your signal is ok for your tv.. not ok for the dust.. you just need a little boost.

Normally I would suggest a RCA with about 20db of gain

as you can see Amazon Warehouse USA has them for $18

if you can get that with free shipping for that price ... get it

Also watch your use of splitters.. never use one with more ports than you need or don't use them at all if you can get away with it.. maybe use a distribution amp that will compensate instead of a splitter.

and actually if you are using a splitter this distribution amp might be enough boost without a preamp to get you where you need to be.. its 8db boost per port
