this thread might not be the place for this, but i would say if you are interested in good audio, dont buy a "gaming headset" just buy good headphones and an addon mic.
I cant speak highly enough about Philips Fidelio X1s they have a universal 3.5mm cord input so you can sub in any cord with a mic. I use a V moda boompro and its awesome when i dont want to or cant turn up the surround system
If you're looking to use a regular pair of headphones, this can easily add a decent quality mic, so you can party chat.
I went for the "Used - Like New" for $89.99 about a month and a half ago. They showed up, well, like new, haha. Side note, I have actually had all of my Amazon used products been showing up like new no matter what condition they were listed.
Anyway, I really wanted to try a pair of Open Back headphones for the wider sound stage and they really deliver. For gaming, I have them paired with the VModa Boom Mic and they work great on PC and Xbox. Were a big upgrade from my HyperX Clouds. I do not hear as much outside sound as I thought I would nor do they emit sound as much as I thought they would. Highly recommend.
i have a question. if you had a pc with the mic and headphone 3.5 jacks next to each other on the front of the pc case, would this work with it? the spacing looks identical so if i was to buy a product similar to this, https://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-BoomPro-Microphone-Gaming-Communication/dp/B00BJ17WKK . would it work if i connected it to the airplane adapter that’s connected to my pc?
This one:
By the way, this is the microphone test sample:

Here is a link to the V-Moda BoomPro detachable microphone for $20. There are other options, of course, so you can shop around for something about $5 cheaper if any mic will do.
philips shp-9600 for $70 and v-moda boompro mic for $20 for and open-back set up but you want closed back, i'd recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M40x it's a little over you budget at $120 not including the microphone though. Another option is the Sennheiser HD 400S closed backs at $68 and if you want to add a detachable boom mic this Ablet will work for both sennheiser and audio technica, you just gotta make sure you get the one you need.
This Product (V-Moda BoomPro) will turn any pair of headphones into a gaming headset. And the mic quality is very good - certainly good enough for gaming comms.
I use it with a pair of V-Moda Crossfade LP headphones - but they will work with any brand. check out /r/headphones for more detailed suggestions on what to buy.
I've got this nifty little thing that plugs into my existing AudioTechnica headphones (they have a detachable cable).
any headphones + vmoda boom pro = better than any of the gaming headsets on the market.
