I followed the link and tried to compare what sorts of things were around sales rank 331 and sales rank 2804 to get an idea of like, this is what it sold like at X date vs now.
Here's what's at rank 315 right now: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Gaming-Driving-Force-Shifter/dp/B00Z0UWV3O/ref=zg_bsms_videogames_38?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BXT21EDRAR3HBSQ02FTG
Just the power brick for an xbox one is at rank 159 and was at 303 https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charger-Console-Worldwide-100V-240V/dp/B07QZRNY7R/ref=zg_bsms_videogames_25?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=BXT21EDRAR3HBSQ02FTG
I don't know how to sort by sales ranks directly so I'm just going by what's reported on the movers and shakers list, but here's an example of something that was also in the 2000's rank range: https://www.amazon.com/Chrono-Cross-PlayStation/dp/B00004TC6E/ref=zg_bsms_videogames_9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=M0GKT5J246CGW60FH1XT

I totally think the naming of what is the previous vs current generation console could have been improved to be more clear which one is the "new" one, but I'm not sure this represents a lot of people actually buying the wrong console in error.
If anyone did buy one in error I hope they do figure it out and get Amazon to return it in time, the fact that you're going to get it in the mail in like 2 days is probably a tip that you didn't preorder the console that comes out in November though.
This one is not in stock in Australia? I had the same thing happen to my OG xbox. $22 on Amazon.
