There are definitely much cheaper options, but finding some validation that a specific lamp is really effective can be hard. Obviously ever seller will tell you their lamp is great. The wavelengths of light definitely matter and you do want to be careful about UV light being emitted from cheaper lights.

You can also get smart bulbs for your fixtures that have bluer light in the morning and warmer light at night. Haven't tried them yet, but I'm planning to.

This is the current model of the first light you mention. In any case, the light is supposed to shine down on the eyes from above.
