Not... really?
I bought this:

Works great but you only need about 6-8" and this left me with a lot of spare ribbon cable but whatever.
This is about 15cm and may leave less excess:

Then disassemble the touchscreen casing. Pulled the back off, I had to pull the touchscreen off too (it's got some sticky on it so be gentle) in order to get the extender to plug in. Put the touchscreen back onto the faceplate, and the ribbon cable is naturally going to come out of one spot. I lined my back case up and marked it with a scratch awl then used a dremel with a cut-off wheel to cut the plastic. I first tried to use snips but the plastic cracked so a cutoff wheel works better. You could also sand- Get some like 80 grit sandpaper and either a block of wood or 3d print a block to hold the sandpaper and go to town. That'll take a while though. Or if you have a 1" belt sander you can just take like 1/8th of an inch off the top. You don't need a lot to route the ribbon cable through.
Then you screw it all back together and reattach the screen. I have gorilla glue sticky tabs so I ran the cable under the front panel and stuck the reader square on the face panel, then taped up the excess ribbon.
I didn't take pictures and taking pictures now would involved pulling the screen off the printer and I don't feel like doing that. It's a pretty simple mod.
