Happened to me too, Schwinn sent me a new pedal under warranty, but then I still felt like they could be better, so I bought these $40 pedals off Amazon, huge difference and made me realize that the ones Schwinn gives you are total garbage. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NKFPGPC

First thing I did before I even took a ride was change the pedals. I went with an SPD pedal on one side with cage on the other. I already had SPD shoes from prior spin studio classes and the cage is nice because it allows the kids to ride. I went with these but there are many options.
