I would try Silikroil(https://www.amazon.com/Kroil-Penetrating-Silicone-Silikroil-Aerosol/dp/B08ZM6ND3L). Water Displacement 40 will not help lubricate. Sikikroil both penetrates and lubricates. OK, yes, this sounds like I am selling it. I recommend trying something, not WD40.

Might be easier to open it up. Be sure not to strip the heads on the screws. They look messed up already.
