Okay update, purchased these two and worked perfectly together with quick charge (rapidly charging)

Yes I will defend 'legacy' because he clearly says 'legacy charger' and 'legacy adapter' and mentions nothing about a cable. The issue is the cable drawing more than the charger can handle, not the Type-A plug. On your two comments:
On the technical side, this cable conforms to the USB Type C Specification version 1.1, meaning that it correctly identifies to the Type-C device that it is a legacy USB cable using a 56k' pullup to Vbus. For charging, this means that this supports BC 1.2 charging speeds, up to a maximum current of 2.4A at 5V.
It's a legacy cable. The one his talking about is this one. This one is only rated up to 2.4A and is therefore legacy. He is talking about cables that aren't rated for 3A but draw it anyway.
You should only see "Type-C with 3000mA max" if you are using a pure Type-C charging path with a new 3A charger.
This one, I can only presume that is because he hasn't found any chargers that are correctly rated. I still state my point all along has been that I haven't seen any evidence that it is technically impossible for Type-A to pull 3A/5V, and this single comment is the closet thing I have seen, up until now nothing has said it won;t work. I strongly believe this comment is simply in the interest of consumers, which is perfectly fine, it isn't a technical statement on the current a type-A port can draw.
I ended up going with this one since I needed one for the car:
Price seems to have gone up a couple dollars since I purchased it but I wouldn't mind paying the price it is now because it is a quality cable. Came in a nice box and feels ridiculously sturdy. Also, the braiding on the cable is a nice touch and doesn't snag on anything.
I ordered the I-Orange cables, but i ordered the one he didn't review.
Am i safe? I ordered http://www.amazon.com/dp/B010VFFU1W?tag=androidpolice-20
Was considering posting as a new thread -- but starting here in the interest of consolidated information...
I purchased the following items from Amazon (The cable was given 5/5 by Benson Leung and yes I'm aware the "QC" standard isn't supported by the N6p).
With my battery at ~80%, I am unable to get the charge to register as charging rapidly. Ampere reports the power consumption maxing out at ~1400mAh. My questions are:
There is a ton of information out there on this, and I've been doin' my best to catch up on it all. Thanks in advance for any knowledge bombs!
Ugh... well the iOrange-E cables on Amazon via "Every Boutique" looks like it went out of stock (Dec/Jan delivery), except the gold color... and they raised their prices too. I ordered a pair of silver cables for $13.99 the other day and now they list at $20.99 and $19.99.
Are they gouging now that they are one of very few games in town?
I bought these which arent the same he reviewd.
Are they compliant? They are also I-Orange-E
If it's this one then he reviewed it and it's good.
Looks like i-Orange dropped their price via Amazon.

I'm pretty happy with this one: http://www.amazon.com/iOrange-E-Braided-Reversible-Connector-ChromeBook/dp/B010VFFU1W
I'm pretty sure it's Benson approved.
I have no idea what's going with all the links in this thread. If you want this cable just search: iorange USB c
