You will need both a modem and router (or a combo) if you plan on using wifi.

The router I purchased was Nighthawk AX5 5-Stream AX4200 I bought it used for $60 on Amazon.

For my modem, I purchased the ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 from Ebay for ~$60 (used).

Both should support 1 gig plan.
