U need a quality Japanese stone for your quality Japanese knife. I also have Tojiro. Your ceramic steel will work well after a durable King Deluxe 300 for 19-24$ at https://www.amazon.com/DELUXE-Traditional-Japanese-Sharpening-Waterstones/dp/B0050ADA2U . Better size, durability, and performance to the budget King or small soft China stones. Only buy King stones with the words "King Deluxe".

Hard big King Deluxe 300 splasher (500+ grit finish, ~24$ Amazon). VG10 61 HRC chef knife. https://youtu.be/bprCz20iidY King Deluxe 300 Whetstone Review. This might be the only sharpening stone you'll ever need. Always Sharper. The King Deluxe 300 is a fantastic stone. Slow wearing, fast cutting, great feedback and inexpensive.

I've bought a few Kings from Amz, all genuine. My King Deluxe 300 splasher is from https://www.amazon.com/KING-Traditional-Japanese-Sharpening-Waterstones/dp/B0050ADA2U . U will pay much more on ebay without easy returns.

$60+ for similar King Deluxe 400 brick. https://mtckitchen.com/king-delux-400-knife-sharpening-stone-no-400l/

King stones are the best value in Japanese water stones and a big step up from Chinese stones. King Deluxe or KDS are higher quality (harder, faster, bigger) than their budget stones.

Good response. I bought the King from that seller, came in an Amazon box without any bubble wrap = cracked in half. Ordered another while I return that one, got it shipped the same way = 2 chipped corners and 1 corner with pieces crumbling off. I do not recommend buying from that seller. I do recommend that stone.

For kitchen knives, King Deluxe 300 and Cerax 1010 1K are thick, fast, and enjoyable. Those are under 25 and 40$, with great reviews on utube. Better size, durability, and performance to small dishy China stones. Durable Norton oilstones are great for other knives and tools.

Thicker King Deluxe 300 splasher (~600 grit finish) will leave a similar finish to the Shapton Kuromaku 1000 (~700 grit finish). Legit; I have ordered more than one from this link. Amazon does the returns for items shipped by Amazon; even third party sellers.
