Soundpeats has a few options. The new nothing earbuds. I forget the name of it but not the nothing ear one, the slightly newer versio.
1more comfobuds (not the pro) do not have a proper tip. They actually have some with no tip and then some with basically no tip. technically the tiniest of tips. You'll see what I mean if you click on the link.
I think the LG FN4 or FN5 is like that as well.
The Sony link buds, are not shaped like the air pods, but they don't actually have a tip at all.
Same with the Galaxy beans .but there's also have a kind of a shape that is quite different than AirPods gen 1. Link
Some neck bands that also have earbuds with no in ear tips.
There are definitely a lot of products that don't have in ear tips. I would say they probably make up 10% of the entire true wireless market at least. Probably similar to the percentage of earbuds that have a hook.
I think the reason they're not more common is because for some people come up me included, they often don't work very well. They always fall off. By design they don't create a seal. So that means you have to turn the volume up if you're in a noisy area which can be bad for your hearing as well.
But you're not alone, there's probably a post like this every other day.
Technically the vernacular used to be " earbuds" have no tip, and in ear monitors have tips.
But over the years, the term earbud has become a casual usually for true wireless or at least wireless IEMs -- whether they have a tip or not.
I understand you're frustration, my preferred type of earbud is a neckband and those are virtually impossible to find new anymore.
