Personally, I think it makes sense to either take a risk with the real cheap Alibaba options or spend enough get a reputable brand (HLG). I'd avoid the middle of the road options (Mars Hydro, etc).

You can afford a single COB at your price point. They're brighter over a smaller area. People love using lots of them, but I think one of those HLG quantum boards would probably be better than just one COB.
