The reality is, all the batteries probably come from the same manufacture in China.
I am a hypocrite regarding their chargers because I have two of them and they work plenty fine. So go for that if you like. I do really like the blue tooth connection to my phone now that I think of it.
Batteries though, go cheap for a basher. You'll get the same run times and speed. You can literally get two batteries for the cost of one traxxas and their the same thing. I went with Amazon zee power batteries and bought a trx adapter 4 pack. Haven't looked back.
I know a lot of people that are probably rolling their eyes, but traxxas batteries have puffed on me several times, and at the rate they cost, you get salty real fast. Traxxas has a life time warranty with their batteries but what they don't tell you is that you have to ship it to them and pay for return shipping AND then you get the batteries half off. Buy time you pay for shipping both ways, that's the cost of a battery alone. I calculated that using their warranty for one battery would cost me the same as getting two from Amazon with free shipping.
Just if your going to charge in your house , get the bat box or charge outside. These things can burn your house down if not respected. Yes it's rare, but it does happen. Even if they don't burn it down, the smoke can do insane damage still.
Batteries (get whatever size you want but this is the brand)

Adapters (if you feel like resoldering that is a solution to but I'm to lazy and these don't have issues disconnecting themselves)

Bit pricey, but peace of mind is invaluable. Protects from smoke damage and burning house down.

The up front costs are a bit too swallow but the hobby is worth it. Remember this is a hobby to have fun and their toys at the end of the day. There not going to be the next rover on Mars. Keep things like batteries inexpensive, and spend money on stuff like the bat safe and rc upgrades.
There will always be someone telling you that you're doing it wrong but if you are putting a smile on your face, then you're doing it right.
Let me know if I can help in any way
Thanks! Will try a stronger battery.
Edit: I found this one that satisfies the voltage requirement (11.1V).
It has 5200mAH at 50C, so if I have the equation right, thats 5200*50= 260A. I think the requirement is 1- 7 Amps from the spec sheet if I'm understanding it correctly?
I have a motor driver to control the speed, so I can tamper down the voltage or current to appropriate levels. I imagine its a bad idea to hook up the battery directly to the motor with such high current?
So I found this one it should be good it does have an xt60 plug again thx for your help. amazon
