Don't skimp on filament. You get what you pay for. I highly recommend eSUN PLA+. Prints a bit hotter than standard PLA, but is significantly less brittle and has better elasticity. imho it gives a better initial surface finish if you're not going to be painting as well. I bought cheap filament for a while, it's not worth it.
PLA is sensitive to moisture. Don't leave your spools out for extended periods of time. Standard PLA may get brittle and crack while attempting to feed if left out. Pick up a plastic tub and some reusable desiccant. If you're not going to be printing for more than a day I'd highly recommend unloading the printer and storing the spools.
The v2 has a buildtak like surface. I've not used it before but I'm going to assume it's similar to other plastic print surfaces and simply requires the occasional wipe of alcohol to keep it clean. DO NOT USE ACETONE.
Once you get the hang of things you'll want to print the bed rewiring parts for the mini. It's definitely an issue that will come up, and is easier to deal with before than later.
There's more to it, but once you get your print material situation sorted then you can move on.
