Synopsis:
Humans now live on the seafloors of seven oceans and have formed cities there. Some from corals, some from crabholes in the ground, among countless others. To survive, hunting parties travel to vast, and wild, oceans in search of game, big and small, to feed on.
But in the narrow, and secluded, Erythraean Sea, latched onto the Indian Ocean by way of the Gulf of Aden, Physeter is alone. He is the only blind man in an sea of sight. While its inhabitants still rely on their eyes, Physeter has only his ears. And the ability to echolocate.
When a mysterious sound haunts the deep while on a salvage expedition to the Thistlegorm, mimicking Physeter’s clicks, might he have found another? And if he pursues the siren’s call, he will no longer be unique. But will he be even more solitary?
