I have used two different daybeds and I love them for couch alternatives. I’m also a big fan of getting them with a trundle for extra sleeping or storage. I toss extra pillows on mine, and have one set of sheets for “couch mode” and a different set for “guest bed mode.” All the “guest” linens store nicely in the trundle on mine.
This upholstered daybed is still my primary lounging area, originally in my living room and now in my den (living room has a recliner instead.) I’ve had this since 2017 and other than a few snags where the cats went after it, it’s in perfect shape. I’ve taken it apart and moved it three times with movers plus once to haul it upstairs. It’s solid and heavy but I can move the individual pieces by myself, even up a flight of stairs. I use it with a good Tuft & Needle mattress + topper and it is super comfortable. Upholstered Daybed
If you want something a bit lighter, I also really liked this Zinus metal daybed, it’s a bit more “bed in the living room” than the upholstered style. I only got rid of this because I was reducing furniture and like the upholstered one better. Zinus Florence daybe
