You certainly won't go wrong with a Fluke, but I'll recommend what I got, because I've been extraordinarily happy with it. About 7 years ago I got an Aoyue 469 off Amazon. You can get them for about $30.
Read through the reviews. 86% of the ratings are 4 or 5 stars. I used to build tube amps and used it for things like soldering stuff to steel chassis, which takes a lot of heat and these days I use it for a lot of digital electronics. It's been fantastic at at both things. It doesn't have a readout to show you the temperature, but I haven't found that to be an issue.
I've gone through a number of tips. I've accidentally left it on overnight more times than I'd like to admit and though it destroys the tips, here it is, 7 years later and still going strong.
I couldn't have hoped for anything this reliable at the price.
