I always carry a full size convection oven, in case I want to cook a turkey.
Seriously though, get a isobutane backpacking stove for $7 like this one that's less than 4 oz: https://www.amazon.com/Backpacking-Lightweight-backpacking-ultralight-Windproof/dp/B0BJ2DXTFV/ref=asc_df_B0BJ2DXTFV/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=632029843327&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16439769936117930868&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010447&hvtargid=pla-1946488665268&psc=1

With a hot plate you have to find an electrical outlet, with a stove you can go anywhere.
If you want to spend more get a Jetboil - it's more efficient, uses less gas, cooks faster.
An alcohol stove would be another option: https://www.amazon.com/Esbit-Lightweight-Trekking-Anodized-Aluminum/dp/B001UEL76Q/ref=asc_df_B001UEL76Q/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167119746601&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1057770790670964651&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9010447&hvtargid=pla-84153121286&th=1
