This is so damn true, and I am realizing this now as I read the recommendations. I thought that if I called it "slow-rise soft" that would get the point across, but it did not... fully translate. People are very kindly giving soft, fast-rise recommendations, and some of them are actually quite good for me (I didn't mention the gummy texture, but I really like that too). However, none of them match what I was trying to get at in the original description. The problem with specific sensory needs is that-- well, they're REALLY specific and intense. Instead of everything being medium-good and medium-bad, there's really really good and really really bad.
Sigh. I'll edit the post to be a bit more specific.
I completely agree-- I wish they would use specific terms so that we could universally know what kind of sensation we are paying for each time. I can't buy a toy until I've seen a video of someone squishing the toy! How will I know if it's the right amount of squish if I cannot perceive the squish!
You have a knack for describing the sensation you're looking for. I know exactly what you're talking about from the way you phrased it. Here are some of the toys that bothered me because I'm guessing you might actually like them :))
