I have a Lenovo M8 FHD tablet working. It needs power from the car’s USB port. It took me about 3 amazon orders to get the right cable combinations. I used these items:
8” Lenovo Tablet https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/tablets/android-tablets/lenovo-tab-series/Lenovo-TB-8705/p/ZA5F0023US
Carlinkit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FT73V87
Power / Data splitter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0826QR2RJ
The Lenovo will only charge if you have the car on and then boot up the tablet. The splitter will charge the Lenovo and the Carlinkit at the same time. Works great and is 1080 resolution so it looks much better than the display built into my 2015 Mazda 3.
The biggest issue is that people still recommend usb drives. Do not use USB drives! Buy microSD cards + USB adapters instead. They don't need much power to operate and they don't get insanely hot unlike USB drives, plus their reading times are top. I have several microSD cards with their own adapters.
Also, I recommend going the OTG route, which means you would have to install bleemsync first..
