Hollow metal chopsticks with a bit of grip on the ends are my go-to choice; they are durable, light, easily cleaned, and last a good amount of time.
Avoid nice looking wood and anything that tapers sharply to a point - they can be really awkward for picking anything up, and even I (who've used chopsticks all my life) hate them. I avoid plastic for similar reasons - it's slippery and doesn't feel great in the hands.
If you do get wood or bamboo, be sure to clean them immediately - hand wash, quick soap and rinse. DO NOT SOAK THEM because they will warp and may absorb icky flavors.
