I've tried it and I've gotta be honest, this stuff is nowhere near as delicious as the real thing, I highly recommend getting real miso from an Asian market, and mixing 1 tbsp(35 Cal) of that paste with 2 cups of water that has some Dashi stock sprinkled in (0 Cal). Though if you're extra like me you can make your own dashi stock by simmering kombu(kelp) and then bonito flakes in water then straining. You can then add a piece of torn up seaweed, tofu for protein, maybe a squirt of light or dark soy sauce for extra flavor/saltiness, some green onion if you want and/or thinly sliced shiitake mushroom. So tasty and filling. Also since miso is fermented and has a high salt content, it can last like a year in the fridge.
I ordered hondashi (instant dashi) on amazon
