I've got a Tesla Tap (not mini) and a DEDC cheaper one from Amazon that's the same size as the Lectron. I tested both at a Tesla hpwc. They both activated and charged nearly identically.

If you're just looking for an emergency situation, the DEDC is probably good enough. Just test it well when you get it.
