It’s hard to say without knowing your exact player but I would be skeptical of a player that cheap. Here’s the link to the one I have:

When picking out a player make sure it has a counterweight and does not have built in speakers as both of these affect the sound and your records. The one I linked has a counterweight and comes with two external speakers, you will have to follow a manual to set up it though. You could also check out some vinyl subreddits for recommendations.
By "with speakers", do you mean built-in speakers, or just included with the turntable?
Here's one of the better portable record players with built-in speakers, the MPK TT270: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RJGPKKK
And this well-reviewed turntable comes bundled with external speakers: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H8VG9BB
For a beginner setup christmas present, which of these two packages would you recommend?
I know that vintage would be better value, but this needs to be new and include a full setup for under $300 and require as little setup as possible, so I figured a package deal like this would be the most simple.
Vinyl can be hit or miss sometimes no matter where you buy them and the vinyl could be the problem but it’s more likely to be your record player. Suitcase players like you showed in your post are notorious for skipping and not sounding the best. They also damage your records overtime because the platter is too small and there are usually no counterweights, so the needle can press too hard and scratch your records.
If you can I would return your player and get this one or something similar instead. I know it costs more, but it is so worth it in the long run to be able to actually play your records without issue and to make them last longer.
Hope this helped! I know the world of vinyl is hard to break into as a beginner. Truthfully I had a suitcase player for years and I just upgraded to the one that I linked above last year and it was the best decision.
BY ONE Bluetooth Turntable HiFi System with 36 Watt Bookshelf Speakers
Pass, the turntable is nothing special or all that good and the speakers are rather cheap.
Better turntables and speakers starting at $105 and $79.
Turntable: AT-LPW30TK $249 $175 on sale.
Plus $79 or better powered speakers or a better separate amp or receiver and passive speakers or buy used. If you need to get lower cost speakers to start with and then upgrade later, Besitan $59 should still at least be better than the 1byOne speakers.
This Buyer's Guide should help you: http://www.amstereo.org/turntableguide.htm
If you can save up another $50, this 1byone system is a much better choice than that Toshiba system: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H8VG9BB
I have this one and like it :https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Turntable-Bookshelf-Speakers-Cartridge/dp/B07H8VG9BB
I'm not sure if it's available in Europe or how much it costs there, but this US$199 wood-finish turntable is good-quality and has a built-in amplifier: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H8VG9BB
