I sat for the California bar in February.

I brought my own earplugs per the bar instructions:

"During the essay and Performance Test sessions of the California Bar Exam and the essay and multiple-choice sessions of the First-Year Law Students’ Exam, only the following items are allowed in the exam room without prior approval. All items are subject to inspection:... Foam earplugs (must not be connected)"

However, I THINK they were handing some out or you could go to the front of the room to get them. I am not 100% sure on that though.

They all seem to be pretty much the same. I just use the purple Walmart ones. Only consideration would be size. My wife has very small ear holes, so I got her these: Mack's Slim Fit Soft Foam Earplugs

Edit: Eargasm has their own version of the basic foam plugs as well. Haven’t tried them though.
