I have a bracelet similar to this, also from Amazon. I've had it about four months and I really enjoy it. I don't think scent projects from it that much, but I like the little mood boost it gives me to sniff, and I use it with a lot of scents that I love in the bottle but don't love my skin chemistry. There are lots of options on Amazon for similar bracelets and necklaces. They might be similar to what you got from Aliexpress. I haven't noticed a metallic smell, but ymmv.

I bought my winter exchange partner a scent locket from Andromeda's Curse. Since it was a gift, I can't speak to how it was. They're inexpensive, so I'm not sure how the quality is, but I was happy to support and indie company whose products I like over Amazon.
