Inositol is known to be good for hair growth, even for men too. It's a shame that more people are not aware of it. Probably due to the fact that IR is a hair loss driver of loss in women and early loss in men, loads of studies on Pub Med. But, it seems to have benefits beyond that.

Inositol is also good for sleep, mood (used to treat depression, anxiety and bipolar), hirsutism, loads of things. It does not need to be expensive, I take a cheap bulk myoinositol from Amazon that I found for me worked as well as "brands" and blends.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DPW5E46/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The scoop in the package is useless. The recommended dose for PCOS is 4g per day in 2 doses of 2g. 2g = 1 Tbs of this powder, I weighted it, so a coffee scoop or most collagen scoops work great. The package used to be around $25, it has gone up a bit but lasts for 7-8 months. I keep a smaller amount in a mason jar so I don't need to go in and out of the package all the time. Inositol was such a life changer for me, so grateful I learned about it on this sub. :)

OP, so happy for you! Hair loss was one of the most distressing symptoms for me. Really excited for you, please come back with more updates!

I have taken other supplements by them. I take this for Inositol, take 2g 2x per day w/folic. Has been very helpful. The scoop it comes with is useless and tiny, one from a collagen tub was perfect.

There is a lot of research on PCOS and inositol if you look at Pubmed or NIH website, there is also data on using inositol to prevent and treat GD in pregnant women, to treat anxiety in kids and to treat things like OCD in adults.. There is also quite a bit of data re: berberine and insulin resistance or diabetes, particularly comparing it to metformin in effectiveness but it is less harsh on the GI tract.

I take either of these inositol products, one is bulk powder, one is caplets. https://pcosdiva.com/2012/07/de-mystifying-myo-inositol/

I also take Berberine https://pcosdiva.com/2016/01/berberine-for-pcos-supplement/

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZX5DMB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and NAC https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CK4QG9Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://pcosdiva.com/2016/02/nac-pcos-supplement/

I take inositol and berberine twice per day, and NAC three times per day. They are capsules except the inositol powder which I mix with a cold drink - coffee, tea, water. I used to put it in hot coffee but someone here said her doctor said that cold was better. I think they all help with insulin resistance but also each offers other benefits too, inositol is good for mental health and hair regrowth, berberine is good for the liver and candida type issues and NAC is really good for inflammation and my asthma too.

I drink spearmint tea as well, sometimes I buy bags or loose tea but I am cheap so I started growing it in my garden and in a pot inside.

At one time I did acupuncture and Chinese medicine, that was sometimes stuff I would brew in a tea. I did it for fertility and it was very helpful for me.

HTH! Good luck!
