Looks interesting,

Tho apparently the only one that have MSI in the product title is the 240W model...

Also, the output on SlimQ's charger is 20V - 12A - 240W

I was told elsewhere that VOLT and AMP should be the same as the old charger while the WATT can be higher.

Will 20V - 12A mess up my MSI GL62 laptop who's old charger is 19.5V - 6.12A (the AMP from SlimQ is literally 2x higher)

Also, I still have no idea if this laptop's model connector is 5.5 x 2.5mm or something else, since SlimQ also sell connector tips for MSI 7.4x5.0mm and 4.5x3.0mm...

They do not say which laptop models do the chargers actually support, they only tell you the brand names it support... which brands have a lot of models in itself.

The chassis for the 2023 G14 is virtually unchanged from the 2022 G14. Here is what I can tell you from my experiences (both helping community members, and my own with my own 2022 G14).

  • The thermal dissipation of the liquid metal cooling system and the chassis are excellent for a thin and light 14 inch gaming laptop. This machine does not circumvent the laws of physics and you will run into thermal constraints.
  • The 2022 G14 came with two GPU options: a Radeon RX 6800S and a Radeon RX6700S. The 6700S is nominally a good deal slower than the 6800S, and yet in part due to the thermal constraints the 6700S only ends up being ~10% slower in practice.
  • The AniMe Matrix draws power, and you will want to keep it off while you are out and about. It also adds a small amount of weight. I would not get it if I were you.
  • The laptop draws more than 125W. It takes a full 240W charger in order to keep it fed under load. The power brick is large and heavy. Fortunately for you, you can always buy a SlimQ 240W power adapter with an ASUS tip if you want something more compact and light. This is what I use to charge, and it works beautifully.
  • The 2023 G14, unfortunately, has the same WiFi+BT module as the 2022 G14. This is the MediaTek MT7922, and it's ... idiosyncratic, to put it mildly. Wild latency spikes are common, and there are many who report things like, oh, the module casually choosing to not function at all when the laptop wakes from sleep or hibernate. If you run across this situation, you can replace it with an Intel AX210 (this is the one that usually gets recommended).

Long story short: if I were you, I'd go for the RTX 4070. If history is any indicator, all of these GPUs will throttle under load, the 4080 and the 4090 more than the 4070. As a result, the differences in performance will likely not be all that large in sustained gameplay.

Well, got the replacement charger, haven't open it yet. (also forgot to mention, I got the 240W charger, cause it was on sale for like 40 dollar off, and I could use the larger power size for future devices that requires more than 150W)

But somehow the replacement box that came is different from the one I got previously.

The replacement I got is this one: (found a pic in reddit)

https://www.reddit.com/r/LenovoLegion/comments/tf5enm/share_my_experience_of_using_slimq_240w_gan/

However the one I got before is a smaller black box with 4 "international converters" included inside,

While the one I just got is the above. (which seems to have a USB-C/A extender), but the box I have, the back says

Pack List: F240 Portable Charger, Super Thin DC Cable and AC Cable with Butterfly Connector

It doesn't mention an extender... and what's Butterfly Connector... the previous charger I got seems to just be a regular AC Cable.

What was the one you got? a Smaller Black Box with Internal Converters, or the above, Wide Box with possible extender?

The one listed on Amazon had the international converter (tho I probably won't use them anyways) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0921B5TTW/ref=twister_B0B5GHY9PL?_encoding=UTF8&th=1

but the above reddit thread I linked above with extender is from 1 year ago, and the recent reviews on Amazon seems to have the extender... so I am wondering if the one I got before with international converter is an older or newer model?
