If you’re not going full 5.1 surround (or more), I would strongly encourage you to skip the AVR in favor of a dedicated two-channel amp, and skip the center channel. You can send TV audio to a stereo amp without any problems (you just use an optical cable), and a pair of good stereo speakers, well-placed, will create a very convincing “phantom center”. In most rooms you will not be missing an actual center speaker, unless you have a super wide seating setup where some viewers will be sitting way off to the side at a sharp angle.
For $2000 you can do way better than this stuff. For example, you could grab a factory refurb Yamaha A-S501 amp for $400, a Hanpin “super OEM” turntable such as the Reloop RP-7000 Mk2 for $500-600 depending on sales ($533 at the moment, and far better than the RT85), and then a nice cartridge with headshell such as the Audio-Technica VM95ML/H (since the Reloop does not include a cart or headshell). These would come to around $1100 total, leaving you room for some awesome tower speakers around $900 like perhaps the Emotiva T1+ or the KEF Q750.
