How much saline are you using? I just checked my Amazon order history and I've ordered 5 of these 12 packs of Saline since April of 2017 which works out to just a couple hundred bucks.

I've never been advised a bottle should only last 2-3 days and there are plenty of reviewers saying they use it for sclerals as well, but I get if you really want to follow your Dr's instructions.

So far as generic advice, if your job offers an FSA, you can use that towards supplies so at least you're getting a bit of a tax break.

  1. Wash and dry your hands with a lint-free towel
  2. Clean and condition using ample solution (like Boston) Amazon Link
  3. Before applying, fill the reservoir with something like this sterile solution: Another Amazon link
  4. I replace every bottle and my lens case monthly as well. I also use the red capped cleaning solution at least once a week.

Edit: My source: I have been using a sclera contact for about 7 years. Had no issues with it till I moved to the Northwest. used to just use the boston solution. After following these instructions, I haven't had a single problem. When I went in to get it checked out, my eye was itchy, irritated and light sensitive. In looking at the ey, my Dr. said it almost looked like a chemical burn. That's when I found I had been doing it wrong for years.
